Rosemarie Lipman has been with Ellis Don for over a decade. Having worked in Legal, People & Culture and now with the Technology team, Rosemarie Lipman has a well rounded perspective of Ellis Don.
What Is Happening in the Development Industry and Ellis Don?
“Everyone knows that construction is slow to digitize”, according to Rosemarie Lipman, CIO & SVP, Digital + Data Engineering @ Ellis Don. Rosemarie Lipman went on to discuss how industry trends have gone on to inform Ellis Don’s tech and data strategy.
For 20+ years, Ellis Don has been in the software business. In 2017 and 2018 Ellis Don invested in a startup that was developing a risk analytics model to support the general contractors, sub contractor pre-qualification process. Rosemarie Lipman stated, “Ellis Don used 10 years of expertise and data to optimize the model and support the development of the product. The platform is now being used by 20 general contractors across Canada and the US and it is currently cash flow positive”.
Ellis Don knows, in order to progress in today’s real estate and construction industry, implementing visual and software solutions is paramount. Ellis Don understands they have software and technology based solutions in their DNA and they collaborate with the brightest minds in the industry to take software in the construction field to new heights.
From 2014 to 2019, investment in construction technology was $25 Billion. That is double the amount in the previous decade. This bodes well for our industry as a whole.

That is what is excites us. From digital twinning the globe to understanding analytics of the building process to integrating BIM Software like Revizto into projects to streamline visualizations and renderings faster. Making tasks quality and more efficient is the outcome everyone wants.
There is a new reality for 2021 and beyond. Technology is the driver. We must adapt. Render Developments has technology to showcase buildings in there pre-construction state. The customer wants to see more before investing major funds into a real estate project.
