Render Developments is an Award Finalist
We are jockeying for our first Durham Region Home Builders’ Association (DRHBA) “Innovation of the Year” award for our software development work on the City of Oshawa’s Northwood Development Project. Not only are real estate developers and municipalities noticing our innovation, we even have Google’s eye, as Render Developments was accepted into the Google For Cloud Start-up Program, showing promise as a technology company. We believe our innovation makes a difference in realizing investments and are excited to be finalists for this prestigious award.
“Over 100 entries and judges across Canada have scored the submissions and chosen this year’s winners” (DRHBA).
What features does our software have?
- 360° drone images: Seamless imagery to show your region
- Filters: Highlight specific opportunities through the menu selection
- Lead generation forms: Viewers can request a call back
- Renderings: We overlay renderings on top of the done imagery
- Fully customizable: If you can think of it, we can likely create it
Render Developments innovation is part of helping Durham shape its destiny. Let’s face it; it’s hard to depend on imagination when building whole communities are on the line. Cities deserve to be selective in how their growth moves forward. Our virtual tours help guide the story in favour of municipal needs, swaying opinions to allocate investment dollars in their region and for the right reasons. Our Google Maps data (API), custom coding, and rendered images paint a picture, so municipalities add maximum value to their growth plans. Buy-in becomes easier with the tools we create.
The Importance of Render Developments’ Innovation:
- Enrich conversations and illustrate today what the region will look like in the future
- Adapts to real-time changes that are happening in the community (add more renderings as projects finish)
- Create visuals that show the zoning by-laws in action (illustrate the laws)
- Tracking interest: Manage who is viewing what investment opportunities

Insights About Northwood:
Industrial, open space and recreation, special purpose commercial and local central area interests are what will serve this community.
With over one million commercial development square feet and 722 acres of land at stake, the City of Oshawa’s Northwood development area will have a massive impact on the residential and commercial landscape. Render Developments virtual tour represents over sixty rendered commercial buildings and is completely scalable, adding drone imagery and renderings as growth materializes. Thousands of new jobs will mean thousands of new haircuts, tons of demand for coffee, and a desire to live close to the office. We take pride in knowing that we are part of a project where millions of dollars in municipal revenue will be spent. With the right storytellers and presentation materials, we can shape Durham Region’s growth together.Best of luck to all the nominees on awards night, and we hope to see many familiar and new faces at the ceremony!
